Thursday 4 December 2025
There was a great turn out for the Pub of the Season Presentation at the Blue Bell at Belmesthorpe. Matt and Hannah were presented with their certificate by the branch chair Kevin Thompson. Rutland CAMRA members and locals were in attendance enjoying the fine ales (six to choose from) and snacks generously provided by the pub.
Kevin highlighted the fine beer quality, excellent customer service and the overall vibe of a fantastic well supported village boozer.

- Blue Bell, Belmesthorpe announced Autumn Pub of the Season
Wednesday 19 November 2025
At our November branch meeting it was announced that The Blue Bell in Belmesthorpe has been crowned the winner of our Autumn Pub of the Season award! This fantastic achievement is a testament to the pub's dedication to serving exceptional ales and providing outstanding customer experience.
Our worthy runners up, The Plough in Greetham and The Wheatsheaf in Oakham, also deserve a huge round of applause for their consistent quality and commitment to excellence.
To be shortlisted out of over 60 pubs in Rutland is no easy feat. The selection process was based on average beer scores from July to September across all of our Rutland pubs, and we're excited to see which pubs will make the cut next season. We'd like to extend our congratulations to The Blue Bell and our runners up.

Sunday 12 October 2025
At the October branch meeting the top three pubs, having the highest beer quality scores awarded during July to September 2025, were announced.
The top three pubs (in no particular order) are:
Plough at Greetham
Blue Bell at Belmesthorpe
Wheatsheaf at OakhamBeer scores have taken them to the short list, but to win the POTS you are asked to consider the wider CAMRA criteria when casting your vote, namely:
* Quality and Condition of the Product;
* Promotion and Knowledge of the Product;
* Cleanliness and Staff Hygiene;
* Community Focus;
* Service and Welcome;
* Style, Decor and Atmosphere;
* Sympathy with CAMRA's values; and
* Overall impression and Value.Therefore, could I please ask as many of you as possible, in your own time, to visit the 3 pubs (don't rely on previous visits please), and make your vote for YOUR pub of the season.
Please send your e-vote to me at ku.gro.armac.dnaltur@yraterces as soon as possible and no later than Friday 7th November so that the result can be announced at our branch meeting on Wednesday 12th November.
Please let me have your name, CAMRA membership number and your (one) choice of pub. The more of you that vote, the more representative the result becomes (of course....).
