A mash up of ‘Electric Landlady’ and ‘Release the Chimps’ - ‘Electric Chimps’ has just been released and is nearly sold out.
Pubs ordering this beer include; The Railway Inn Ketton, The Green Dragon Ryhall, Ostrich Inn Peterborough, The Kings Head Stamford, The Bertie Arms, Uffington plus others. Look out for this beer at a pub near you!

Oakham Ale Trail - Rutland CAMRA Spring Pub of the Season - The Railway, Ketton

At Rutlnd CAMRA's May branch meeting The Railway was announced as the winner of our Spring POTS award. The runners up were the very worthy Uppingham pubs the Exeter Arms and the Vaults.
Each pub made the shortlist as the result of the average beer score recorded by CAMRA members in the period January to March 2025. Rutland CAMRA members then voted using the CAMRA POTY guidelines.
Many congratulations to Jamie, Louby and Team Railway who will be presented with their award on Friday 30 May at 7.00pm.
All welcome to attend.

The Railway is Leicestershire & Rutland CAMRA Pub of the Year .
All at Rutland CAMRA wish to heartily congratulate Jamie and Louby on this outstanding achievement, thoroughly deserved as a result of their continuing excellence and hard work.
The Railway is a wonderful advertisement for the great British pub, providing quality ale, the warmest of welcomes to everyone and sitting at the heart of the local community.The Railway was competing against high quality pubs from 5 neighbouring branches :
Hinckley & Bosworth - The New Inn, Hinckley
Leicester - The Pharmacie Arms, Syston
Loughborough & North Leicestershire - The Organ Grinder, Loughborough
Melton Mowbray - The Stilton Cheese, Somerby
Vale of Belvoir - The Wheel, Branston .Judges from each branch visited the pubs and scored them according to CAMRA’s Pub of the Year Judging Guidelines .
Rutland CAMRA are extremely pleased and proud to have The Railway endorsed as the flagship pub not only for our branch but once again for the whole of Leicestershire and Rutland.
We look forward to shortly announcing a date for the presentation to be made by Philip Tiplady the CAMRA County Co-ordinator for Leicestershire & Rutland.

Our POTY presentation was a great evening and many thanks to Rutland and Stamford Sound for their coverage which you can see below.
The Railway was packed to overflowing for our Pub of the Year presentation.
Excellent beers from Harvey’s, Bateman’s, Round Corner and the Grainstore and pasties from Cornwall ! Thank you Jamie.

Tiny Pint Issue 28 March 2025 - Rutland Breweries win awards at SIBA BeerX 2025

Congratulations are in order to both of our excellent Rutland breweries who have achieved great success at this week’s SIBA BeerX awards.
Nip the 7.3% premium strong ale from the Grainstore was awarded a silver in the Overall Cask Champion category after winning gold in the Cask Imperial & Strong Ale category. A fantastic achievement.
It was multiple golds for Baker’s Dozen with Undertow winning back to back gold awards in the Keg Pale Ale category.
Bull Run was awarded a gold in the British Best Bitter category making it the first Baker’s Dozen cask bitter to make the National awards. There was also a bronze for 12 Second Panda in the Keg IPA category.These are outstanding results and a tribute to the skill and hard work of our two great breweries.

SIBA Beer X Awards 2025 - The Railway, Ketton Rutland CAMRA Pub of the Year

For the second year in succession one of the brightest gems in Rutland’s sparkling pub estate has won our Pub of the Year award.
Thoroughly deserved recognition to Jamie, Louby and the team at the Railway and a highly appropriate reward for all of their hard work, dedication and no little skill in running such a great pub.
We look forward to presenting the award to the Railway, at 7pm on Friday 11th April.
Special mention also to the Wheatsheaf in Oakham a very worthy runner-up.
The Railway will now go through to the area Pub of the Year judging. - The Plough, Greetham our Winter Pub of the Season

Many congratulations to Pete, Hayley & the team on the Plough being named as our Winter Pub of the Season.
We’ll be presenting the award 7:30pm Thursday 6th March.
All welcome to attend and some may enjoy staying on for the Plough’s weekly quiz starting at 8pm.
In a high scoring vote and turnout (Well Done! to those members) The Plough was voted our Pub of the Season from another high quality shortlist also featuring Uppingham’s Exeter Arms and The Vaults.
